Joel Willans was born in England and came to Finland for love. He ended up falling in love with the entire country. Well, This is maybe not the latest book but this is one of my favourite books ever in my whole life. Why? Let me tell you why later. Once, My best friend in Finland sent me a package for my birthday gift. I didn’t expect anything and he sent me this book.

I was surprised because I don’t expect anything on my birthday in 2017 back then. Can you see the cover of the book? it’s a crazy thing, A man naked surrounded by the snow. I can’t imagine how cold it was but I am sure, It’s freaking cold. Don’t judge a book by its cover, That was totally true, especially for this book. You can’t expect anything till you read it.

This book actually some chapters of some stories which is real. The author called Joel has been spending his marriage life and moving permanently in Finland since then, He knew some real stories to talk about also tells people who are curious enough about Finland and how to survive in Finland. This book tells us everything about the uniqueness, weirdness also the funniest thing to live as Finnish.

101 very Finnish problems actually talk about how people in Finland live, their habits also the thing make they like and don’t like. We know that Finland is the coldest country besides the south and north pole, but You can imagine, All-time snow and the snow it’s pretty crazy if you have a car, it may not turn on after the snowstorm because the weather is pretty extreme there.

While sauna in Finland is quite different than in South Korea. If you watch Korean movies aka K-Drama, You’ll see a lot of people go to Sauna with husbands, and family but they still put the clothes on and it’s natural. But don’t be surprised! Sauna in Finland, it means you have totally naked without string attached, no towel, no shorts, no nothing. Naked. not only that, But you have to see all people naked at the same tie so you don’t know where to look. So you can see all your family members naked without any clothes and they don’t think anything about dirty thoughts. Well, it’s part of the tradition, nothing to worry about. Do you wanna try it?

Well, I don’t wanna spill more information about the book, I think this book gives us another perspective of life about blending with other people while we don’t even know the tradition, and also we need to learn how different cultures sometimes make us amazed. I do believe, We were created in the same way but the way we live is quite different from other people. This book is recommended for all of you who want to know better about Finland and also want to laugh out loud while reading.

Thank you Esa, for the best birthday present, I really appreciate it, I loved it. Just in case you read this.

You can’t find this book in Indonesia, So better try to look for it on Amazon or buy the e-book.

Rakkaudella,

FJ
